Born 17 January 1971 in Romeo, Michigan, as Robert Ritchie, Kid Rock went on to become a musician that has constantly reinvented himself transcending all the boundaries in music. He has been nominated for hip hop/rap awards as well as rock, country, and heavy metal. The road to becoming a legend and top 100 selling artist of all time wasn't always smooth.
Kid Rock admits to not being perfect and has had notable transgressions with the law, a failed marriage to Pamela Anderson, and a few other rough patches. Through it all he keeps making music, is an active supporter of the U.S. Armed Forces, and a top selling concert performer around the world. Just in case you thought he was a bad guy as his image is sometimes portrayed, he funds a scholarship at Wayne State University with profits from his clothing line Made In Detroit, proving there is more to the man than often meets the eye.
